The Development Center
One of the most unique features of Duran Golf Club is our 30-acre golf Development Center, a practice and learning area that is among the best in Florida. We developed this center for a number of reasons but mainly because golfers kept telling us that the average course was not offering them the kinds of practice experiences they need and because they wanted better facilities for instruction and lessons.
Over the next few months we will be installing a state-of-the-art lighting system for our golfing patrons, allowing you the chance to play or practice after work or in the cooler evening hours.
Here is what this facility includes:
Our incredible practice range
Our practice range offers teeing areas at both ends of the practice facility. One side of the range will be for warm-ups and practice; the other will be a secluded area for lessons and instruction. The practice tee area is expansive….100 yards wide and 40 yards deep offering quality practice conditions every time you come to practice. You will hit off all-natural Bermuda turf, not mats. You will experience realistic golf course target conditions with seven target greens guarded by coquina bunkers. Each day we will laser measure the yardage, to tell you how far the targets are, exactly! There will be mounded areas to hit balls where you can deal with those tricky downhill, uphill, and sidehill lies, along with an area cut to rough height to practice those tough, heavy grass lies you’ll find out on the course.
A great short-game practice area
We have a 10,000 square-foot TifEagle putting green. Large enough to be able to move around without bumping into other golfers. Our 7,000 square-foot TifEagle pitching green allows you to make practice shots from up to 70 yards away. An expansive sand bunker that can accommodate up to 12 golfers for greenside or fairway bunker shots will be just perfect for working on your sand saves.
And of course, our unique Duran Par 3 course
The Duran Par 3 Course is a 9-hole layout that winds its way around our practice range. This is a course with a perfect length for you to walk and carry your clubs. It’s an excellent facility for juniors or beginners. This inexpensive playing option takes only about an hour to play. Holes range from 50 to 130 yards in length. True-putting TifEagle greens average 4,000 square feet with challenging bunker features. Teeing areas are measured but left unstructured to allow for multiple distance shots and perfect playing conditions
The course will be lighted so that you can play whenever you feel like it.
Whether you are playing an 18-hole round with us or not, we welcome visitors to our practice facilities. Range balls cost $3 for 30 balls, $6 for 60 balls and $9 for 90 practice balls. Daily, monthly, and annual package programs available.
